Missions
Seth and Theresa, remain deeply connected to their families in Kenya. They maintain contact with them and often are troubled by the struggles they encounter.
In February 2011, Theresa's mother, Josephine Bosibori Okioma Bisase, suffered a stroke. Her physicians recommended physical therapy but was unable to follow their recommendation due to lack of finances and proximity of physical therapy services. Rehabilitative services are extraordinarily expensive in Kenya and mostly paid out of pocket, consequently, her mother required continued care for the last 11 years. Unfortunately she died in August 20, 2022. She was just one of many who would have benefited from an affordable rehabilitative treatment facility.
This is the situation that inspires and motivates them to want to build an affordable outpatient rehabilitation center in honor of Josephine Bosibori Okioma Bisase. (JBOB) is intended to be an income driven center, which will be an option to the rising cost of health care, to help many other Kenyans who suffer with similar medical conditions to regain and improve their quality of life.
The services will include:
Cardio therapy, to provide rehabilitation after a stroke.
Physical therapy, to facilitate therapeutic exercises.
Occupational therapy, to provide vocational performance, independent living, and psychosocial recovery
Patient/FamilyEducation, to help promote independence and better understanding of illness, injury, prevention and treatment.
